Food Festivals Provide Great Tasting Menus

February 09, 2011

Especially in New York City, food festivals happen throughout the year. There is everything from tastings to fundraisers to cooking competitions. It’s a great and fairly inexpensive way to taste the food of numerous restaurants and chefs as well as liquor brands. I am amazed how many new and emerging food companies have been started by entrepreneurs with a passion to make a name in this industry. These photos from the Edible Manhattan event display some of the wonderful offerings I sampled.Delicious cocktails made with American Fruits Sour Cherry.Molten chocolate cake filled with warm caramel. Yummy!Dining guide to teh healthiest, most sustainable NYC restaurants.Flavored bitters. The new and fresh product on the block.Hot dogs with brussel sprout slaw.Hudson Whiskey and other ingredients to make the new whiskey sour. It’s back!Karma Tequila. Is that redundant? Right now they manufacture blanco. Reposado and aƱejo to come.Lovely rum cocktails with edible flowers. (I love eating flowers. Something so delicate about them.)
